Why La Vida Pickup
More than a game,
a community.
Play Without the Commitment
No season. No long-term commitment. Just show up, get on the field, and play. Whether you're a regular or it's your first game, there's a place for you.
Get Active Together
Soccer is one of the easiest ways to get moving without feeling like you're working out.
Sprint. Recover. Run. Laugh. Compete.
You're getting active without having to make exercise feel like a workout. And when you do it consistently with a community, showing up becomes part of your routine.
Building Community, One Game at a Time
We're not trying to build a group of strangers who happen to play soccer. We're building a community where people know each other, look forward to the next game, and push each other to keep moving. Your feedback matters, and as La Vida grows, you help shape what it becomes.
Participation Policy
Pickups at La Vida.
Good games start with clear rules. Here's how we keep every session fair, safe, and fun for everyone — from first-timers to regulars.
Goalkeepers
- Goalkeepers may leave the penalty area and participate in play outside the box
- Goalkeepers should remain on their team's half of the field
- Goalkeepers must follow the Pass-Back Rule
- Players under 21 are not permitted to play as goalkeepers
Pass-Back Rule
- Goalkeepers cannot pick up the ball if a teammate intentionally passes it using their foot or ankle
- Goalkeepers can pick up the ball if a teammate uses their head, chest, knee, or thigh
- Violation results in an indirect free kick for the opposing team
Scoring & Ball in Play
- Players may score from inside the penalty area
- Players under 21 may score a maximum of 5 goals
- Ball hitting side or top netting is out of play
- Restart with goal kick, corner kick, or kick-in — depending on where the ball went out
Physical Play & Safety
- No outfield player may challenge for the ball while a knee, hip, hand, or torso is touching the ground
- No aggressive body checking — this is recreational, not contact sport
- Heavy or dangerous physical contact is not allowed
- Players may be removed if conduct is dangerous or inconsistent with the recreational nature of the league
Registration Priority — Open Games
For open games and any remaining spots after member priority, registration is first-come, first-served in this order:
Waiver required before playing. All players must sign the waiver at Sofive Lake Nona before participating in any La Vida League game. This only needs to be done once.
